Comments towards the development plan of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, can now be submitted via community involvement, stakeholder engagement platforms and other structured meetings.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM) is mandated by law to develop and regularly review its Municipal Spatial Development Framework (MSDF) as part of its Integrated Development Plan (IDP).
The MSDF outlines the Metro’s desired spatial development, guiding land use, investment, and public decision-making to achieve sustainable growth.
Aligned with national, provincial, and regional strategies, the MSDF, shapes where people live, work and how the city evolves.
It also highlights key investment areas and development priorities, provides a spatial vision for the city’s future and serves as a foundation for land use management and decision-making.
It is approved every five years and refined annually.
To find the MSDF, go to the Municipal website under E-services, and look for Documentary Library.
There is a folder for strategies and in that folder, you will find the MSDF.
You can also obtain a soft copy from the 3rd floor, Lilian Diedericks Building, or request a copy via email: msdf@mandelametro.gov.za or mkmay@mandelametro.gov.za
