A high-level investigation is underway, with a ballistics report already concluded, following Paul Mashatile, the Deputy President of South Africa’s, shooting incident involving at his convoy in Boksburg a few days ago. 

The Institute of International Peace Leaders, said the Crime Intelligence division is conducting ongoing risk and threat assessments for both President Ramaphosa and Mashatile.

Angel Nemakonde, the Spokesperson for Africa, said in a statement, “as the Institute of International Peace Leaders (IIPL), we stand for fair, accountable leadership—and we believe that all leaders, regardless of political context, must be protected to ensure the stability and democratic integrity of the nations they serve.”
