The Department of Transport in the Northern Cape, has warned motorists of flooded roads following Tuesday’s heavy rains.
The Granaatboskolk Road (DR2972), near Loeriesfontein, is currently badly affected.
The Department said a nearby river is in full flood, and the current is extremely strong.
As a result, pedestrians and motorists are advised not to attempt crossing the river and to use alternative routes for their safety.
The Granaatboskolk Road is among three flagged last week by the Department as badly affected.
The other two, also in the Namakwa District, are Kuboes to Baken Road and
Eksteenfontein to Grasvlakte/Port Nolloth Road (DR2962).
