Disruptive rain is expected between Port Alfred and Coffee Bay, is expected on Tuesday, the 22nd April 2025, after the South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued an Orange level 5 warning.
SAWS said to expect flooding of settlements and roads, as well as the cutting-off of communities, along the coast and adjacent interior between Port Alfred and Coffee Bay.
Lesser rain, at level 2, is expected on the east coast and adjacent interior of the Eastern Cape, while severe thunderstorms, are expected over the eastern and southern parts of the Northern Cape as well as central and the western parts of Free State.
The SAWS also said rough winds might make navigating at sea, slightly difficult, especially between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas.
