Well, a week ago 90 prisoners escaped from Zambezia Jail.
Just yesterday, the 26th December 2024, between 1,500-6000 prisoners escaped from Maputo’s Central prison.
This includes poachers, murderers and those convicted for terrorism related crimes, according to Bernardino Rafael, Chief Police of Mozambique.
The prisoners reportedly overpowered the guards, stealingAK-47 and dangerous ammunition.
