Eskom said loadshedding remains suspended, this is despite constrains of increased unplanned outages.

Eskom said the system remains stable and supported by the strategic utilisation of emergency reserves to meet demand, especially during peak periods, and where necessary.

Unplanned outages increased this week to 13, 733 Megawatts (MW), available generation capacity is at 27,106 MW.

Planned loss through maintenance this year, is at 12, 64%.

This week’s Energy Availability Factor (EAF) increased to 58,34%, up from 57% at the start of this year.

About 2,120 MW are expected to be returned from service over this long weekend.
