Rand Water confirmed that maintenance at its Eikenhof pump station is scheduled to be completed today, 16 December at 21:00.
Systems affected by maintenance at Eikenhof are Soweto, Randburg/Roodepoort, Commando (Brixton, Crosby and Hursthill), Lenasia, parts of Johannesburg central including Eagles Nest, Crown Gardens, Aeroton and Alan Manor reservoirs.
Nombuso Shabalala, Johannesburg Water (JW) Spokesperson, said priority for water supply during this time, is going towards Hospitals, clinics and old age homes.
Another point of collecting water was identified as the JW Southdale depot, located at 91 Side Road and the Hamberg Depot at 159 Albertina Sisulu, Roodepoort.
Sites are expected to remain open until 20:30 on Monday evening.
Although Rand Water completed maintenance at Zwartkopjes over the weekend, supply is interrupted due to air locks.
Areas affected are in Parktown, Berea, Naturena, Orlando East and the Johannesburg CBD.
Shabalala said JW technical teams are currently still busy removing airlocks along the line, to boost recovery.
