The District Disaster Management Centre was opened at Megacom, Libode, in the Nyandeni Local Municipality, on Monday.
O.R. Tambo District Municipality has officially opened its doors, following a ribbon cutting event.
It is expected to amplify early warning systems and disaster monitoring to affect emergency coordination and response.
The event was officiated by Mesuli Ngqondwana -Executive Mayor of O.R. Tambo District Municipality, Thandekile Sabisa -Deputy Executive Mayor, Viwe Ndamase -Mayor of Nyandeni Local Municipality and Mlibo Qhoboshiyane – Member of the EC Provincial Legislature (MPL) and Nontyatyambo Gcinga – MMC for Community Services.
