The tie-in of the B16 pipeline from Zuikerbosch, Station 5 of the Mapleton System, is nearly complete.

Speaking on site, Sipho Mosai -Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rand Water, said on Saturday,  “we are almost done here. Thank you for your understanding. This part of maintenance is nearly done, cross-connecting the B16 with the B8 pipeline and valves.”

Water supply is expected to be restored after the 02 June 2025 at 17h00, following about 107 hours of maintenance, which began on Thursday, 29 May 2025.

Mosai also said the objective of this planned maintenance is to increase capacity and improve plant availability, reliability, and operational efficiency, to support a more resilient and adaptable water supply network in preparation for the anticipated increase in supply volumes from August 2025.

This week’s maintenance affected residents in Tshwane’s Regions 2, 3, and 6, Waterkloof Ridge, Elardus Park, Constantia Park, Silver Lakes, Mooikloof, and Mamelodi, Bronberge, Selcourt, Stompiesfontein, Vlakfontein 1 and 2, Wildebeesfontein 1, 2 and 3, as well as areas supplied by the Carina Street, Constantia Park, Corobrick, and Erasmusrand Reservoir, Benoni, Vosloorus, Katlehong, Daveyton, Springs, Brakpan, KwaThema, Tsakani, Duduza, Nigel, and Dunnottar, Thembisile Hani, Lesedi, Govan Mbeki, and Victor Khanye. 

Next on Rand Water’s list is the isolation for cleaning and inspection of the Klipriviersberg (03 June 2025 at 06h00 to 16h00), Russel Road meter installation (03 June 2025 from 06h00 to 18h00).
