Marc Joffe, the Group Chief Executive Officer, of the Global Credit Rating (GCR), part of Moody’s, is stepping down at the end of March 2026.
Joffre has been at the helm of the rating institution for about 25 years.
The GCR said he made significant strides while in the organisation, such as transforming it into Africa’s leading agency. He also led its sale to Moody’s Corporation.
Joffe said “leading GCR Ratings has been a privilege. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved as a truly pan-African rating agency. I step down with profound gratitude, respect, and lasting appreciation for the trust, support, and collaboration of colleagues and stakeholders throughout this journey, and am confident in GCR’s future.”
Saul Sassoon, currently GCR’s Group Chief Financial Officer, was appointed as an Interim Group CEO.
The Board of Directors expressed its gratitude to Joffe, for his exceptional leadership and vision.
The Board also welcomed Sassoon, into his new role.
