According to the Mountain Company, the Letaba Dam, located at the Middle Letaba River, 40 km east of Elim and 40 km west of Giyani, is 100% full.
This is the first time since 1984.
In May 2025, levels were critically low at approximately 8%.
The dam serves irrigation and domestic needs for nearby communities, including the Nwamatatani Village.
