Commuters in Cape Town can expect more reliable movement of minibus taxis on Monday morning.

This emerged from a meeting held on Sunday afternoon, by leaders of the South African National Taxi Association (SANTACO) with Rob Quintas, MMC Urban Mobility (CoCT).

Quintas confirmed that leaders reassured him that   public transport services will be operating normally.

Despite this, the police (SAPS), the City and Provincial safety services will continue to be visible on the roads and monitor various routes, ranks and stations.

This follows escalating violence, since two weeks ago, marked by killings in parts of the City, at Delft, Gugulethu, Khayelitsha and Mfuleni.
