Motorists are urged to avoid the D972 road outside Vaalwater in the Waterberg District.
More downpours (at level 4) were forecast for Lowveld areas in Limpopo and Mpumalanga for Friday, into the weekend, by the South African Weather Service (SAWS).
The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, said as a result, Vhembe, Mopani and Waterberg Districts were severely flooded.
Ernest Rachoene, the MEC of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, said other flooded roads are D192 in Mokgalakwena, also in the Waterberg District.
Others are the D3681 Tshikunda to Vhufuli and the D3830 at Mbhokota Village, outside Louis Trichardt.
“We further advise communities to avoid flooded roads and bridges during this time and that they must also prioritise their safety” said Rachoene.
