Gravel roads across the Namakwa District are wet and slippery, following heavy rains, in Richtersveld and Khai-Ma Municipal roads.
The Department of Roads and Public Works in the Northern Cape, cautioned all road users that the DR2951 between Kamasies and Rooifontein, is flooded.
A strong and fast-flowing river flooded the road, cutting off a nearby community.
The Department also said it is monitoring several wet roads, including Witpad to Kleinzee Road (MR745), Port Nolloth to Kleinzee Road (MR746), Kleinzee to Rooipad & Groenriviermond Road (DR2964), Brandvlei to Loeriesfontein (DR2976–DR2972), Roodewerf Road (DR2267), Calvinia to Clanwilliam Road (MR542), Richtersveld Municipal roads and Khai-Ma Municipal road.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) warned against continuing downpours (at Yellow Level 2) over KwaZulu-Natal and the eastern Highveld in Mpumalanga, on Sunday.
Damaging interior winds (Level 2) are expected over most parts of KwaZulu-Natal except in the south-western parts.
