Thunderstorms are intensifying over southern Namibia and the north-western Northern Cape.
Meteorologists at the Severe Weather and Information Centre (SWAICSA) attribute this to a cut-off low pressure system, appearing on satellite images to be located west of southern Africa.
As a result, there is a possibility of severe thunderstorms on Saturday over Central and southern Namibia, Western and southern Northern Cape, the interior of the Western Cape and the western interior of the Eastern Cape.
Similar conditions can be expected over parts of the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu Natal (KZN), Mpumalanga, southern Limpopo and eSwatini.
