Tshwane Metro Police urged motorists to drive away from anywhere near the Home Affairs Department, on Tuesday.
This is due to a march to the Department planned to demand identity documents be unblocked.
Protesters plan to go from the Old Putco Depot at corner Struben and Cowie Street, as from 9am until 13:30.
Affected streets are Kgosi Mampuru and Struben, Struben and Sophie de Bruyn, Bosman and Sophie de Bruyn, Paul Kruger and Struben, Thabo Sehume and Struben as well as Thabo Sehume and Johannes Ramokhoase.
Alternative routes are Eskia Mphahlele Drive, Madiba, Boom, Sisulu and Lilian Ngoyi Streets.
