Mulilo has reached financial close for one of four projects, Ukuqala Solar Project, situated near De Aar, in the Northern Cape.
The project is co-sponsored by Air Products South Africa.
It will be the first renewable energy project to supply Air Products’ Air Separation Units, in SA. Electricity is expected to be wheeled to various locations.
This makes it the 6th project to be closed by the team in 2024.
It has a capacity of about 105MW, with a maximum output of 75 MW.
Once completed, it will be connected to the Kestrel Main Transmission Substation, also still under construction.
It was funded by Nedbank, Standard Bank and Absa, Peppertree Capital, ENS and the ABL Group.
