Nordex Energy has found ways of strengthening the safety of towers, at its wind farm in the Eastern Cape.
The project, near Impofu Dam, has wind turbine towers, made up of 25 crafted keystones, the largest of which weighs over 57 tonnes, and is 20 meters long.
Nordex detailed how the construction team will ensure the towers are sustainable.
Rebars will be installed, curing will take place over a maximum of 10 days.
The company said it is sourcing material locally, including steel and concrete.
