The N1 FW De Klerk Boulevard inbound and outbound heading to and from the Cape Town City centre, was fully opened to traffic on Monday morning.

This follows damage by a truck on Saturday night.

Rob Quintas ,MMC of Urban Mobility in the City of Cape Town, said two cranes lifted a 100 tonne section of the bridge and realigned it.

That is only the initial process, which was completed in the early hours of Monday morning.

Quintas also confirmed rubble was removed to open both the the N1 inbound and outbound.

The next phase to follow, is job scoping for remedial and aesthetic repairs, scheduled for this week.
