uMngeni-uThukela Water said on Friday, fake notes alleging there is poison in the Midmar dam are false.
According to uMngeni-uThukela Water, there are voice notes doing the rounds that suspects were caught pouring poison into some dams in KwaZulu-Natal, including the Midmar Dam and another unidentified dam, which supplies the eThekwini Municipality.
“We dismiss these allegations as false and fake news, designed to cause unnecessary panic and confusion among the public.”
The Water Board said water that is supplied to all our municipal customers, remains safe for human consumption and is tested in accordance with the highest drinking water quality standards.
