An orange warning alert was issued by Weather South Africa for the Eastern Cape and KZN. Orange warnings are issued, if consequences of the weather predicted, will affect many people.
The warning is for disruptive rain, that can lead to flooding for parts of the Wild coast of the Eastern Cape, the southern coast and adjacent interior of KZN today.
“Widespread heavy rainfall of between 50 and 100mm, is expected along the coast with local heavier amounts possible.
This may lead to flooding of roads, settlements, dangerous driving conditions and danger to life due to fast flowing streams.”
Severe thunderstorms with potentially damaging winds are expected in the Western and Central Interior parts of Mpumalanga, Limpopo, as well as Eastern parts of Gauteng, North-eastern Free State and parts of KZN.
