The Overstrand Municipality was recognised for outstanding performance in water quality and wastewater management, by the Department of Water Affairs and Sanitation on Tuesday.
The Infrastructure Services Directorate win 1st place in the Best Municipal Technical Site Assessment 2025 for the Hawston Wastewater Treatment Plant on 31 March 2026.
The award was presented by Pemmy Majodina, Minister of Water and Sanitation.
Ald Archie Klaas, Overstrand Mayor, praised Director Stephen Muller, Hanré Blignaut and their team for their dedication and consistent delivery of high-quality services.
