The City of eThekwini is pulling out all stops, ahead of Saturday’s 2025 Nedbank Cup Final.

This includes a joint clean-up operation at Albert Park, to ensure it is ready for hundreds of football supporters.

The Park will be used as a public viewing area for a Soweto Derby between giant football teams -Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, on the 09th May.

The clean-up was supported by stakeholders and the community.

The City said in a statement, new flower beds were also planted and electricity repairs conducted, as well as the repainting of the amphitheatre, as part of the clean-up.

Zama Sokhabase, Chairperson of the Community Services Committee, said the park is clean, safe and ready for supporters.

Sokhabase said there will be entertainment provided before kick-off at both viewing sites.

“Both fan parks will be safe and provide a lively, energetic atmosphere like the one at Moses Mabhida Stadium. I encourage fans who were not able to get tickets to visit the fan parks to enjoy the game,” she said.
