The Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant, is next in line, in Rand Water’s ongoing maintenance, scheduled to end this Friday, the 20th July 2024.

In a brief, Rand Water said work to replace  defective valves, will last about 50 hours.

Water pumped from the station will be reduced by 68%, to Klipriviersberg, Germiston, Brakpan, Klipfontein and surrounds.

Tomorrow, water will be completely shut off from 8am until 6pm, while the City’s maintenance team replaces a valve on the main water supply pipeline.
Areas to be affected include Heron Park, Blue Waters, Imhoffs Farm, Ocean View, Kommetjie, Scarborough and Masiphumelele.

Planned maintenance is expected to lead to water supply interruptions, on Thursday, this week, the 18th July 2024.
Areas to be affected were detailed in a statement by the City, as Hout Bay – Valley Road, Longkloof Road, Boskykloof Road, Forest Hill, North Oaks Avenue, Chestnut Drive, Blackwood Drive and surrounds, Vredekloof, Welgelee, Arauna, Morgenster, St Kilda, Marlborough Park, Brackenfell Industrial, Okavango Park and parts of Claremont.

Supply interruptions will vary from low water pressure to no water coming out of taps in affected areas.

In Khayelitsha’s Site C, there will be no water at all on Thursday, from 10am until 5pm. The City said its teams will be inserting a new valve (PRV) on the main water supply to Site C in Khayelitsha.
