Police destroyed more than 4.6 million millilitres of illicit liquor, confiscated throughout the Sedibeng District, since May this year.
This is part of OperationShanela2 campaign, which continues.
The liquor, included beer, spirits and whisky.
Police also arrested a 45-year-old Zimbabwean national on Wednesday, for allegedly smuggling manufactured tobacco valued at approximately R3.8 million, through the Groblersbrug Port of Entry.
He was arrested by the South African Police Service (SAPS) Border Policing team at the Groblersbrug Port of Entry on Monday.
They stopped to check his Volvo truck towing an LP gas trailer, only to find illicit tobacco products.
They uncovered 521 plastic bags containing approximately 7,294 kilograms of suspected manufactured tobacco concealed underneath the trailer.
The suspected tobacco has an estimated value of R3.8 million.
Lieutenant General Jan Petrus Scheepers, the Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, welcomed the vigilance of the police and committed to intensify operations at ports of entry and other strategic points to disrupt the smuggling of illicit goods.
