Work is underway to rescue miners underground Stilfontein.
The Department of Minerals Resources and Energy circulated a video on Sunday, showing a bulldozer in the area.
The Department also said it has finalized an agreement with Mine Rescue Services.
This follows a court case on Friday, the 10th January 2025, by Lawyers For Human Rights, on behalf of Zinzi Tom, whose brother is among trapped miners.
The Department claims it had decided independently, prior to the court case, to begin rescue operations.
