Research on clean air is the focus of this year’s Africa Clean Air Network, taking place at the CSIR International Convention Centre (ICC), from 14–16 July 2026.
Funded by the Clean Air Fund, the Forum is attended by air quality specialists from across the continent, including representatives from academia, government, policymakers and key funders.
Air quality is key to reaching net zero targets.
Therefore, researchers until Thursday, were discussing the role of air quality modelling in shaping policy and clean air zones, pathways to urban health and resilience, and innovative financing approaches for air quality interventions across Africa.
The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, the Council for Scientific Research (CSIR) are among participants at the meeting.
