The N2 near Chesterville and the M19 in Reservoir Hills, were reopened following an early morning protest.
Residents of the uMgudulu informal settlement, blocked the M19 near Reservoir Hills, protesting against water shortages.
The eThekwini Municipality said all roads were reopened on Wednesday afternoon.
In addition, law enforcement and emergency teams are on site.
“The area is now calm and fully accessible to road users, with Metro Police remaining on site to continue monitoring” said the Municipality.
Elsewhere in the City, the Democratic Alliance (DA) held another protest, against unveiled statues of former stalwarts- Nelson Mandela and OR Tambo.
