The South African Weather Service (SAWS) warned against disruptive snow (at Level 2), southwest of the KwaZulu Natal escarpment on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
Moreover, rainfall is expected, also at level 2, over the Western interior.
SAWS said this weather is as a result of a cut off low pressure system, resulting in rains in excess of 40mm from Tuesday into Wednesday.
This pressure system is also driving heavy snowfall (at Level 5), expected over Sengqu, Elundini and Matatiele.
SAWS said snowfall could go up to 20cm thick.
Similarly, heavy rains at Level 6, are forecast over the Eastern Cape, from Tuesday.
Rain could amount to 70mm in total, by Wednesday.
