Predictions for rainfall for this season, will be reviewed by the Southern African Region.

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat, through its Climate Services Centre (CSC), will meet on the 29th- 31st January 2024, at the 28th Southern African Regional Climate Outlook Forum (SARCOF-28) in Maputo, Mozambique.

The SADC Secretariat, said in a statement, that the aim of the meeting, is to review the impacts of the October-November and December (OND) 2023 rainfall season’s predictions and to also advance the establishment of Regional Sectoral User Interface Products (RSUIPs).

Experts are expected to convene first, from the 22 – 28 January 2024.

Discussions of experts will review the impacts of the OND 2023 season’s outlook on each sector, as well as implications for the Water-Energy-Food nexus, with a focus on Disaster Risk Reduction.
