Security is beefed up at Woolworths stores, following explosions at two separate branches on Thursday and Friday, this week.
The first incident was at the Menlyn Park store, in Pretoria, in the early hours of Thursday morning.
A second explosion occurred at the Preller Square branch, in Bloemfontein, on Friday.
The Woolworths Group said it is relieved that no one was harmed in both cases, which were in the early hours of the morning, between 1am and 2am.
Sam Ngumeni, incoming Group CEO of Woolworths, said the South African Police Service (SAPS) was informed immediately, and a thorough sweep conducted of stores.
He also said the Hawks are investigating the matter further.
In addition, specialist forensic experts were also contracted to strengthen security and intelligence.
Consumers are cautioned to be vigilance across Woolworths stores nationwide.
