A shortwave trough passing through parts of the country, is expected to bring some severe thunderstorms and heavy rains, to parts of KwaZulu Natal on Sunday.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS), said in addition, rains will bring along damaging winds.
The most impact could be felt in low-lying areas and bridges, informal settlements and farms.
Relatively lesser rains and thunderstorms (at Level 2), are also expected in the south-eastern Highveld of Mpumalanga.
SAWS said extreme high fire danger conditions continue over the Kagisano-Molopo local municipality, in the North West, and the extreme northern parts of Limpopo.
