Sibanye Stillwater Limited, reported an operating profit of 9% higher year in year.
In a statement on Tuesday, Sibanye said its profits before interest are R3, 3 billion, 9 per center higher, than the previous year.
The company said there is improvement in the Group’s safety trends, and a healthy balance sheet.
SA gold operations generated an estimated 292% increase, bringing in R1, 35 billion, boosted by a higher Rand gold price.
Production increased by 5%, generating about R1, 6 billion.
The company’s zinc production also increased by 9% to rake in R565 million.
Sibanye also secured 500 million Euros for its Keliber lithium project.
“The improved financial performance was primarily due to significantly improved financial contributions from the SA gold operations and the Century retreatment operations in Australia said the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Neal Droneman.
