Agrinouri, an agroprocessing and vegetable company, held a session in support of agro-processors last week.

The workshop addressed basics of agro-processing, food preservation methods, essential equipment, and practical demonstrations.

Part of the excitement at the session, was Agrinouri’s simple jam-making process, highlighting the accessibility of agro-processing for small-scale producers.

The session was attended by Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) and the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (GDARD) and the Joburg Market.

Lesego Seyama, a Senior Manager for Commission Business at Joburg Market, said the market’s role in supporting agro-processors is well defined. She outlined the extensive facilities and support services available to businesses in the agricultural value chain.

The event also focused on critical topics like opportunities for agro-processors, quality control, food safety, and compliance standards.
