Eskom announced it would implement stage 2 loadshedding from Wednesday, 19 March 2025 until 5am the following day.
Eskom’s Daphne Mokwena said five generation units were lost before the peak period.
As a result , Stage 2 loadshedding was implemented.
“We continue to prioritize planned maintenance to strengthen system reliability ahead of the winter months, while ensuring adherence to environmental and licensing conditions. In light of the ongoing system constraints, we urge the public to use electricity sparingly” she said.
