TEARS animal shelter in Cape Town, has called for public assistance, after the animal shelter, was nearly burnt to the ground last week.
Mandy Store, the initiative’s Operation Manager and Heidi May, General Manager, notified various stakeholders via social media, to assist.
“People jumped out of bed, rushing to TEARS in the dark of morning… not for themselves, but for the dogs” said May.
The project also shared pictures of dogs desperately digging at the gate, in an attempt to reach safety on their own.
The dogs were moved into the clinic’s free kennels, until the fire was contained.
But wendy houses used to house dogs, were utterly destroyed.
Here is a list of needs: Roofing sheets, Pavers, Vibracrete walling and Bedding.
All donations are appreciated- materials or financial.
