A tropical storm was named BHEKI at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning by the Mauritius Meteorological Services (Meteo Maurice).

The minimal central pressure is estimated at 999 hPa, with gusts reaching 100 km/h.

Bheki is located at points 10.2 South / 75.8 East, and approximately 2200 km east-north-east of Mauritius and 1650 km east-north-east of Rodriguez.

It is moving south-westwards at 7 km/h, and meteorologist say it could be a cyclone by Sunday, the 17th November 2024, before it  moves towards Mascarene Islands by the middle of next week.

Meteorologists at Meteo Maurice, say this is a similar tropical depression, that evolved last August, followed by moderate tropical storm ANCHA in October.
This makes BHEKI the third system of this 2024/2025 cyclone season.
