Members of the Severe Weather and Information Center (Swaicsa) Vic Benade and Jill Watson witnessed what might be a tornado.
The two saw a cloud rotating on the East Rand’s Bapsfontein/ Knoppiesfontein, in Gauteng.
This happened just after 11am, on Wednesday morning.
The witnesses also said the base of the cloud, was rotating strongly.
It was followed by a debris cloud, which looked like smoke among trees, started to develop on the ground, below the funnel.
Dr Hoorn of SWAICSA, attempted to draw an illustration, to show the connection between the cloud and the ground.
There was thunderstorm activity in the region when all this happened.
Credit to SWAICSA for the information.
