Greece’s Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection has issued emergency alerts to move residents and tourists away from coastal regions to seek higher ground.
This follows a risk of a tsunami, following a strong earthquake in the Greek island of Kasos, in the early hours of Wednesday morning around 1:51am.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said the epicenter of the quake was located about 14 miles southeast of Fry in Greece.
Although there are no injuries reported, the quake was felt in Crete, Rhodes, Kos and eastern Mediterranean areas.
