The urgent cleaning of the Montana Reservoir ends on Wednesday, the 14th May 2025, having begun on Monday.

The City of Tshwane said the reservoir would receive a full washing, as part of the ongoing operation and maintenance of the bulk water supply system. The City also said regular cleaning of storage reservoirs is essential to ensure water quality.

The City also said the decision to clean the reservoir followed recent reports of water discoloration from the Reservoir.

Residents supplied by the reservoir, have received water through a temporary bypass pipeline since the start of maintenance work. However, this pipeline has a lower capacity than the reservoir.

Areas impacted by maintenance are Annlin Ext 36, Christiaanville AH, Cynthia Vale AH, De Onderstepoort 300-JR, Derdepoort 326-JR, Derdepoort 327-JR, Derdepoort (all extensions), Doornpoort 295-JR, Doornpoort (all extensions), Hartebeestfontein 324-JR, Kenley AH, Kozeni AH, Magalieskruin (all extensions), Montana AH (all extensions), Montana (all extensions), Montana Park (all extensions), Montana Tuine (all extensions), Sinoville (all extensions), Sinoville Ext 27, Wolmaranspoort AH and Wonderboom (all extensions).
