With maintenance of the electrical system at Palmiet successfully implemented yesterday, Rand Water is onto the N6 pipeline tie in.

The Palmiet is expected to pump water at a 60% rate for 8 hours today.
This is expected to affect areas in Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, Tshwane, Madibeng, and Industries.

Gqeberha

Today is day 9 of the tie in, of Canal repairs of the  of the Sundays River.
Although the Sundays River is starting to flow into the canal down Scheepersvlakte, the system remains strained.

The Municipality has organized water trucks for areas in Motherwell: Corner of Nkamakhwe & Nqabana Streets, Motherwell NU 9, Weza Street, Motherwell NU 7 Square, Xabana Street, Motherwell NU 5 Square, Weza Street, NU 6 Square, Corner of Tyinira & Khawlela Streets, Motherwell NU 4, Third Avenue, Windvogel, Salsoneville Old Age Home, Endlovini Elephant Park, Wells Estate and West End Clinic.

Reservoirs are expected to start filling up tomorrow, 3 July 2024. Normal water distribution can be expected from Friday onwards.

Carolina and Silobela (Gert Sibande District Municipality)

The Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality informed residents of interruptions to water supply at Carolina and Silobela.

There is a broken mainline pipe at Pearce street, which has led to low pressure and no supply in Carolina Town and Silobela ext.1,2,3 and 4

Water is expected to be restored this afternoon.

Saldanha Bay

Urgent maintenance work kicks off in Hopefield tomorrow to repair the reticulation network.

Water supply is expected to be interrupted for these areas: Hopefield small holdings; Skilpadbessie, Jakkalsbos, Slangbessie, Heuningbos, Hoewe and Steenbok Streets

Restoration of supply is expected tomorrow afternoon.
