There will be no water in most Durban taps next Tuesday until Wednesday, the 09th April 2025.
The city of eThekwini said the shutdown is to allow uMngeni-uThukela Water (UUW) to replace 1,200 mm diameter sales and check meters on the gravity bulk pipeline.
UUW is the City’s bulk water supplier.
UUW is expected to start draining out the reservoir networks ahead of the shutdown.
Gugu Sisilana, Spokesperson of the City, said the recovery process of the reservoirs could take up to two weeks after the completion of the shutdown, with some reservoirs recovering sooner than others.
