Dam levels in the Western Cape continue to decline and now hover around a combined 42,66%.

This is despite visible seasonal changes.

The Provincial Department said levels are  below expectations for this time of year.

“Everyone across the province is urged to keep saving water wherever possible as part of our shared responsibility to protect this vital resource.”

The Department has urged residents and business take small actions, such as keeping showers short, turning off taps while brushing teeth or washing dishes, only run full loads in washing machines and dishwashers, water gardens early morning or evening and fix leaking taps and toilets immediately.
