Work is already underway in parts of the Western Cape, to fix damaged roads. 

Alan Winde, Premier of the province, published the scale of investment for the rebuild after the 2026 floods.

He said preliminary costs include the R45 million -B4677 in Rawsonville, the Villiersdorp – MR279 & DR1336, is estimated at R25 million, Villiersdorp & Worcester – DR1395 & DR1423 at R35.5 million, DR1400 in Worcester –  (km 8.0 to km 22.4) at R60 million, the B5983 on OP5719 at R15 million, Michell’s Pass – TR22/1 & MR201 (km 0.0 to km 1.25) at R22.5 million, the Steel Bridge B3057 (Rooibrug) in Bonnievale at R60 million, Bridge B3054 & Culvert C10326 at Bonnievale  at R25 million.

Mending the MR401 in Uniondale, is estimated at R70 million, the Bainskloof Pass -MR201 at R10 million, the B5224 on MR305 (km 5.94), in Wolseley at R8 million, the B3061 along MR290 in Robertson to McGregor at R10 million, Meiringspoort at R421 million, Gouritzmond –Bridge B5576 & DR1525 at R10 million, Steel Bridge B4828 Doringsrivier at R60 million, Vredendal & Klawer – Bridge B2491A (TR16/1) & B3200A (MR547) at R27.5 million and the Uitkyk Pass & DR2182 at R75 million.
