The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Yellow warning Level 2 for the Central, Northern parts of the Western Cape, as well as the South-Western parts of the Northern Cape.

Damaging coastal winds are expected between between Dassen Island and Still Bay, making it difficult to navigate out at sea.

While the Cape Winelands Fire rages on, the Greater Overberg Fire Protection Association, has issued red warnings for Caledon, Gansbaai, Grabouw, Hermanus, Kleinmond and Swellendam.

The SAWS has issued extremely high fire danger conditions for the western parts of the Eastern Cape, north-eastern and central parts of the Western Cape as well as the central and southern interior of the Northern Cape.

A heatwave is expected in the Eastern Cape, to continue every day until Saturday, the 3rd February.  High temperatures are expected in the central interior and in the western region of the Eastern Cape.
