About 314 people were evacuated, following heavy rains which have submerged at least seven provinces, in Turkey.

Rainfall in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions of Türkiye, affected Antalya, Mugla, Aydin, Izmir, Hatay, Adana, and Mersin.

Heavy rainfall began in January 2026, flooding Kuşadası, Aydın province.

The Turkish State Meteorological Service issued a yellow weather alert for eight provinces this past week.

Meteorologists said despite the floods in January, Turkey is in a drought phase.
