A fire at the Kennedy Road Informal Settlement in Ward 25 (Clare Hills), has left 76 people displaced, including children.
The eThekwini Municipality’s Disaster Management teams, together with Fire and Emergency Services, said they responded to a call on Wednesday evening, the 4 June, around 19:30.
About 47 informal homes were ravaged by an angry blaze.
Although there are no casualties reported as a result of the fire, the City said it is conducting
site investigations and assessing the impact of the damage.
Fire victims are currently being accommodated at a nearby community hall.
