Parts of eThekwini have interrupted water supply, following a leak detected along the Southern Aqueduct, last week.
As a result, water supply was significantly affected, to the central and southern areas of the city.
Cyril Xaba, Mayor of eThekwini Municipality, went to visit Westville on Monday, to assess the progress of repairs.
He also visited Chatsworth Reservoir 4, which supplies most parts of Chatsworth as well as some reservoirs in Umlazi.
Affected areas include, Northdene, Chatsworth, Umlazi, Folweni, Nsimbini, Shallcross, Malvern, and Klaarwater.
Xaba said onsite, “I am pleased to report that experts have been commissioned to repair the concrete pipeline from underneath, and they have assured me that they will work throughout the night.”
