Residents of Bronkhorstspruit could soon have adequate water supply.
Hopes were raised by an oversight visit conducted by Jack Bloom, Deputy Minister of Water Affairs and Sanitation, to the local Water Treatment Plant, last week.
The Department said Bloom’s purpose there, was to gain firsthand understanding of the operational challenges affecting the Plant.
During a briefing, Bloom spoke about the reasons for the plant’s underperformance at an estimated 27 Ml/d against its actual capacity of 54 Ml/d.
He promised to urgently coordinate an intervention to address the factors constraining the Plant’s performance and to restore it to optimal operational capacity.
The Plant, is owned and operated by the City of Tshwane (CoT). It supplies water to communities in Bronkhorstspruit, Zithobeni, Rethabiseng, Ekangala and neighbouring communities within Thembisile Hani Local Municipality.
