A 40 -year old man was swept away into a flooded river, while driving a tractor, at Tweestroom.
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said in a statement, on Wednesday, the police at Rankin’s Pass in the Waterberg District, are investigating the incident.
The man was reported missing to the police, by his employer.
According to reports, the driver attempted to cross the flooded bridge but unfortunately misaligned the tractor with the width of the bridge and drove off into the flooded river.
Lieutenant General Hadebe, the Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, urged motorists to avoid crossing flooded rivers, low-water bridges, and roads covered by water.
“No destination is worth risking a life” said Hadebe.
